The pink party

I know we’ve covered the topic of Belle turning one already, but before I can just wrap it all up, we have to take a look at her party! It was super low-key with all her favorite people, lots of pink, and a tutu of course!!

Belle spent the afternoon visiting her favorite peeps—Aunt Laura, Grammy,
Papa John {yup, that’s what he’s called!}, and Great Grandpa!

As you can see, Belle is doted on by ALL of her Grandpa’s… even all at once!

Belle was gracious enough to offer up some kisses for me! {oh, the kisses you learn to love once you’re a mommy—open mouthed and slobbery, but so so sweet!}

The “great” Luceros {great by relation, of course} and Grandma Linda and Grandpa Forrest, too.

Her guests enjoyed pink candies, pink popcorn, and frosted pink cupcakes… on pink plates!

And I made a poster out of Belle’s Sticky Bellies monthly pictures! {Remember: You can enter to win a set for you or a friend!}

Belle enjoyed some pink popcorn herself!

Belle was making the funniest face when she had the cake in front of her! She was acting all excited, mouth open and all! Yet, she was more interested in poking the cakes than eating it. I think she was more into all of the attention everyone was giving her! Either way, she was super cute!

She did enjoy a few bites of cake!

And there were presents of course. Great Grandpa got her the cute pink chair and she loooooooves it! She’s opening the present that Jackson picked out.

Grandpa also got her a {loud, singing} stuffed animal—she loves to snuggle and love on stuffed animals.

Belle got a new {pink} high chair, booster seat thing. I am probably more excited about it that she is, but we need to get the full sized one out of the dining room!

She was more interested in climbing up on the box than what was inside, and that’s okay! At least it was sort of a toy for awhile.

Belle loves her necklace {from Jackson} and she will put it on whenever she finds it around the house. Just a cute little girly-girl in training I guess!

I love how her pink party turned out! We love our little girl and are so thankful for all the friends and family in our lives that love her as much as we do!

38 weeks: ONE WEEK LEFT!

Yes, one week from today, we will be welcoming our little baby girl in the world! It is so surreal to even think about. And I've been so preoccupied with getting all of the baby things together that I've hardly even thought about actually getting to see Derek next week too. So, I have a new wave of excitement to keep me going!!

I'm not sure if I even mentioned on here the details of Derek getting to come home. The plan looks like this: I am scheduled for an induction for next Friday, February 18th. I will go in on Thursday night. Derek plane arrives in KC at 2:30pm and we are hoping he makes it to the hospital around 3:30ish. Our doctor is super on board with doing our best to plan the timing so that I'm ready enough when he arrives to just push her out, but yet not getting too far along that we end up having her before Derek arrives. I think God is laughing at our attempt to plan one of life's biggest unpredictablies. Oh well. It's what we are shooting for, but he is coming home regardless... even if it's a few hours (days) after she's born. Still better than nothing.

*How far along?: 38 weeks
*How big is your baby?: Approx. 6.8 pounds
*Total weight gain?: 13 pounds
*Sex: Girl
*Maternity clothes: I've actually started packing up summer items and other things that I don't plan on wearing in the next week.
*Stretch marks: Unfortunately yes
*Movement: All. of. the. time.
*Sleep: Sleep is good, but between getting up to pee a KAZILLION times a night (at least 3) and dealing with a sick toddler... my sleep is often interrupted. I seriously think the biggest injustice of pregnancy-- you should be able to catch up on sleep before having the baby that will wreck havoc on your sleep for the years to come.
*Best moment this week: Finishing the babies "space" today (see pics below!)
*Food cravings: I just finished an entire box of Cap'n Crunch with Crunch Berries in less than 24 hours. Need I say more.
*Labor signs: Nope
*Belly button in or out: It's out. It's way weird.
*What I miss: sleeping on my stomach and sleeping through the night
*What I'm looking forward to: seeing Derek and meeting this little girl NEXT WEEK!!!

This is baby girl's home! It's in our master bedroom. I'm glad that even though she doesn't have her own room, that she has a definite "space" to call her own!

This is a word collage that my wonderful friend HanNah made for me. I saw one of these prints when we were out together last October. I had forgotten all about it and then she surprised me with it the other day! I love it!

Check out these before and after shots to see what we began with just a few weeks ago to get ready for this little girl! The drawers were a Christmas gift from Dad and he has been down several times the past month installing them (which included cutting out drywall, reinstalling drywall, sanding, painting, etc..). Isn't he amazing!? I just say it's proof that his little grand-daughter already has him wrapped around his finger.

Okay, maybe me a little bit too. :)

Wanna know what I got today??

I got a new toy. And it happens to be pink. Yes, it is indeed the first pink Android phone. And she's mine. Don't tell Derek. He'll be insanely jealous (not about the pink, but about the phone).
I was sort of bummed my family was switching from Verizon to Sprint only because I just really liked my old phone, the Samsung Rouge. I found her sister phone. It's a lot more features, apps, and all sorts of bells and whistles. I just have to figure it all out. Even better- they bought my old back from me so it was basically 40% off. How awesome!

I even found Jackson some shorts for next summer at Target for only $2.50 a pair. That was pretty exciting.

And more exciting than any of this... I GOT A LETTER FROM DEREK!! Two actually. Since last Sunday, I've only received a quick three minute phone call and I he told me he mailed these letters and I have been impatiently waiting for these guys ever since Wednesday night!! The best part is that I finally have an address for him so I can start sending him letters and pictures. That is... once I can decipher the chicken scratch his handwriting. He's been writing really fast so he can finish the letter in the little free time he gets and it just makes it that much more difficult to read! But I am more than up for the challenge.

The gist of basic training so far- lots of push ups, lots of screaming, not a lot of sleep. He said he's making friends and having a good time. And that is so good to hear. I miss the guy, I really do. These past two weeks have gone by pretty fast, so here's hoping the next 33 go just as quickly!
